My Financial Aid Award Summary has Work-Study listed,
how do I get a job?

Qualified candidates are contacted by Human Resources and invited to make an employment application either online or through the paper application process. Completed and returned applications initiate the interview process. Prior to the start of the academic year, students select an area of job interest from the "Job Guide". Those interests are matched to anticipated openings. Appointments are then confirmed to the candidate by mail. As a result, an interview for a work-study opening is scheduled upon your arrival to campus. Additional interviews for campus openings are secured by calling or visiting the Office of Human Resource Management. Open position information is posted to the Internet and on the bulletin boards located in the Office of Human Resource Management and Commuter Affairs.

Specific information is required by law in order to work on-campus. For detailed requirements please refer to the Student aide Guide and Regulations or call the Office of Human Resource Management.

If not hired, students can continue to interview for open positions. It is important for candidates actively seeking work-study positions to remain in contact with the staff of Student Employment. Feel free to call or visit the office at any time.

When I applied for Work-Study at the Office of Human Resource Management, I was told that no jobs were available. Wasn't I guaranteed a job with my Financial Aid Package?

Placement to a Work-Study position is contingent upon available jobs. The number of eligible candidates usually exceeds the number of available jobs. However, every effort is made to assist students to secure interviews for open positions. Openings for work-study positions occur throughout the school year making placement likely for any student actively seeking a position.
