Welcome:

I think you will enjoy this community, founded in 1878 by the priests and brothers of the Congregation of the Holy Ghost, the Spiritans. Our more than century-old tradition is providing a unique liberal and professional education with an emphasis on moral values, a dedication to quality teaching and a commitment to service.

Duquesne University does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, marital status, or disability. However, as an institution operated in affiliation with the Roman Catholic Church in the United States, Duquesne University reserves the right to specify as a qualification for employment the ability and willingness to support the values of Roman Catholicism as set forth in the University's Mission Statement.

Applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the mission and to respect the Spiritan Catholic identity of Duquesne University. The mission is implemented through a commitment to academic excellence, a spirit of service, moral and spiritual values, sensitivity to world concerns, and an ecumenical campus community.

Benefits:
Full-time employees are eligible for an excellent benefits program that includes flexible healthcare coverage with vision and dental insurance, disability benefits, tuition remission, retirement savings plan, family leave, paid and unpaid time off for vacation, leaves of absence and holidays. Compensation is very competitive with other higher educational institutions of our stature. Learn More.

Community Location:
Duquesne is a private university on a 43-acre campus, located above the vibrant city of Pittsburgh. This gives our community a small town feel near a rich urban setting. The Pittsburgh region offers a variety of cultural, education and professional opportunities, where a safe and affordable lifestyle is readily available.

Duquesne University interacts with Pittsburgh's corporate community through business and medical fieldwork and internships that enhance our students'educational experiences. Students and faculty also contribute through community service in health care, education, social services and the arts.

Innovation:
From our campus in Rome, Italy, to our home on the bluff, Duquesne is changing educational models to meet the needs of today's students in new ways. We have five-year entry-level masters programs in forensic science and law, occupational therapy and six-year doctoral programs in pharmacy and physical therapy, and numerous programs in emerging industries. Duquesne is actively planning for increasing enrollment with expansions to our campus and upgrades to laboratories, living and learning environments.

Our Heritage:
One of America's leading Catholic universities, Duquesne was founded by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit in 1878. The Spiritans continue to play an important and inspiration role in the campus' ethical teachings and outreach. The Duquesne community contributes about 190,000 hours of voluntary service each year, with 58 percent of our students in direct service to the underprivileged.

Thank you for your interest in employment opportunities with us. There are exciting times ahead for Duquesne University and your interest in our institution is very much appreciated.

Ryan Dawson, PHR
