Dean of Nursing Research and Director, Center
for Nursing Research
Duquesne University School of Nursing
is seeking a seasoned researcher as associate
dean to lead the faculty and students’ research
and scholarship endeavors. This is a tenured position
for a senior faculty member beginning in 2010.
The associate dean directs the Center for Nursing
Research in support of research productivity.
In addition, the associate dean fosters faculty
and students’ efforts in grant writing,
scholarship and research in vulnerable populations,
health disparities, cultural competence and chronic
illness—the school’s research focus
areas.
Qualifications include:
• Ph.D. in nursing or a related field
• Established record in research, scholarship
and securing external funding
• Interdisciplinary research experience
• A commitment to the dual role of scholar
and teacher

Full-Time Nursing Faculty
Duquesne University School of Nursing
is currently seeking nurse educators for several
faculty positions beginning August 2010. These
are full-time positions, both tenure or non-tenure
track, at the instructor, assistant or associate
professor levels.
Qualifications include:
• Ph.D. in nursing or DNP is preferred;
a master’s in Nursing will be considered
• Preference will be given to those with
successful teaching experience at the university
or college level
• Demonstrated commitment to the profession
as evidenced in record of professional leadership
or public service, or scholarship
• Preference will be given to candidates
who support faculty research endeavors related
to vulnerable populations, health disparities,
chronic deviations from health and cultural competence
