The Department of Instruction and Leadership
in Education at Duquesne University invites applications
for a tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate
Professor level. Applicants should have a doctorate
in Foreign Language Education, Applied Linguistics,
Educational Linguistics, or a closely related
field, with specializations in areas such as foreign/second
language acquisition and pedagogy, cultural and
linguistic diversity, ESL teacher education, or
learner variables.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate
and graduate courses in English as a Second Language
(ESL) program, advising graduate students in the
ESL certification program and participating in
the doctoral program in Instructional Technology.
Candidates must demonstrate a record of scholarship
and be prepared to maintain an active research/scholarly
agenda. ESL/EFL teaching experience is required.

The position will be available beginning Fall
2010. Candidates should submit a letter of application,
curriculum vitae, sample publications, unofficial
graduate transcripts and three letters of recommendation.
Candidates should have an earned doctorate by
August 1, 2010. Salary and terms of appointment
will be commensurate with qualifications and will
include an attractive 12-month salary, vacation,
and benefits package.
